FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS THAT SKI RESORTS AND BUSINESSES OFTEN ASK ABOUT SKIGOGGS
How are these SKI GOGGS developed? Where does the information and data come from?
The attached SKIGOGG images above (please click on them to enlarge) are just samples of hundreds of the most exciting, colorful and descriptive illustrations of snowfall at ski areas that we will provide on our site. The topographical maps of the ski areas are provided exclusively by GOOGLE, while we superimpose snow data on them. Any descriptive, text information regarding forecasts, etc. are provided exclusively by Bestskiweather.com and Jim Roemer. Any use or dissemination of these images is strictly prohibited without an Agreement with GOOGLE EARTH and Jim Roemer.
How can we get these to post on our site? Do they cost anything?
GOOGLE requires anyone interested in posting their BASIC/RAW images on their site to pay a commercial license fee of $400. However, the raw images DO NOT COME WITH SNOW DATA ON THEM-nor with our detailed forecasts and analysis. This is something that we need to dicuss both with you, as well as google before we can supply them for your site.
Ok--so how do we pay for this?
Right now, there are certain restrictions for posting the google earth images, as well as our weather information that is on them, to your site. You would need to receive permission from GOOGLE first, and then from us, to use the images we create commercially. If you are interested in us supplying these to you, please e-mail me at jimskiroemer@aol.com and we can discuss this.
Then, again, if you want us to put snow data on them and do an analysis or forecast, our fee is $1,800; 40 tickets; or some combination of each.
